Frostburg State University seeks qualified applicants for a Simulation Operation Specialist in our Department of Nursing. Available to begin July 2023, this is a full-time, 12-month staff position. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications; University System of Maryland benefits package included.
The Department of Nursing at FSU provides a variety of undergraduate and graduate nursing programs and pathways including a new online LPN to BSN, new on-campus BSN program, online RN to BSN, and four graduate nursing concentrations. This staff position is to support the simulation and skills laboratory within the undergraduate on-campus BSN program and graduate nurse practitioner concentrations.

Description of Ongoing/New Duties
The individual in this position works in the Department of Nursing to provide clinical simulation and technical support. This position is responsible for the technical and mechanical operation of the clinical simulation laboratory, maintenance and inventory of equipment and computer software, troubleshooting simulation solutions, and managing Department of Nursing specific technology. Major areas of responsibility include collaborating with the Simulation Coordinator and Nursing Faculty to assist in the implementation and evaluation of technologies required for simulation programs using industry standards and established best practice standards; managing technology related maintenance agreements; setting up and operating computer mannequins and related software, including audio-visual equipment; managing and using moulage and medical supplies needed to enhance delivery of simulation activities (e.g. IV supplies, medical equipment, wound dressings, etc.).
Minimum Qualifications
Earned Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited university. Minimum two years of clinical nursing experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Earned Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited university. Experience teaching or precepting students in a simulation and skills laboratory or clinical nursing education experience.
