Black River Memorial Hospital has an immediate opening for a full-time Patient Care Technician / Health Unit coordinator (PCT/HUC) in our OB/Infusion Department. The PCT/HUC provides supportive services and direct and indirect patient care as well as organizes and coordinates efficient delivery of care under the supervision of an RN. It also performs as part of the nursing team in non-clinical tasks and coordinates activities of the unit. This position is:
- Full-time, 72 hours per pay period, Day shift with various days of the week, benefited
Essential Duties:
- Provides patient care following nursing/medical orders and coordinates clerical activities on the unit to promote patient-focused care.
- Accurately locates and organizes the patient’s medical record for admissions, discharges, and transfers.
- Successfully performs all Patient Care Technician/Health Unit Coordinator core skills performed under the direct supervision of the RN safely and according to policy and procedure.
Educational Qualification:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
- Current certification as a Nursing Assistant
- BLS certification within 3 months of hire
