The Nursing Education Specialist advises and/or participates in the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of learning for assigned groups or departments. The NES functions as educator, consultant, coach, and liaison regarding learning theory and the competence development of staff.
This NES will support the neonatal specialty thus the ideal candidates will have NICU experience. The position will be working full-time on mostly the day shift with occcasional evenings to support education on that shift.

Assess learning needs of individuals, groups and departments
- Uses a variety of approaches to assess the ongoing learning needs of staff including competence assessments, surveys, interview, quality management reports, new practice guidelines and procedures, new research, regulatory requirements, and critical initiatives that support the mission of Fairview.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing
- One year as a direct patient care RN
- MN RN License
- BLS
- Three or more years as a direct patient care RN.
- Two or more years as a preceptor.
- AANC certification in specialty
