We are a child serving agency seeking aNurse Coordinatorthat is responsible for providing care and treatment as outlined in the clientstreatment plan. Functions as a member of the clients treatment team as outlined in the policy and procedures manual. Observes and reports client changes in status to Program Director and Medical Director.
Recognizes, reports, documents and seeks appropriate intervention for signs and symptoms of complications or changes in status. Recognizes and reports signs and symptoms of abuse and neglect and takes corrective actions per agency policy. Collects and reports client data in accordance with program procedures.
Participates in formulating, maintaining and evaluating an individualized age specific program based on the clients assessed needs. Consistently includes the parent/guardian in client care. Identifies and documents nursing issues.
Evaluates effectiveness of nursing care. Records and carries out physician orders appropriately. Plans, provides and evaluates client education specific to assessed needs, age, abilities and readiness as appropriate to clients length of stay.
Educates clients/parents/guardians on treatment planning and medical issues according to their age and abilities. Demonstrates competence in understanding that the dynamics of the clients status, including frequency for the need for specific nursing care activities, change. Demonstrates competence in the degree of supervision required by each nursing staff member based on previous addressed level of competence.
Participates in the agencys admission process to coordinate client requirements with nursing staff. Sets appropriate priorities for care. Coordinates nursing care provided in conjunction with the therapies directed by other disciplines.
Develops and implements orientation plan for nursing personnel. Develops, implements, monitors and maintains quality assurance for the infection control program while ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies. Administers medications in a safe manner (=2 medication errors during this appraisal period) and documents administration of it.
Delegates treatments and procedures to appropriate personnel. Responds appropriately in life threatening situations. Selects, trains and evaluates all supervised employees in a timely and efficient manner.
Consistently keeps appropriate staff notified of changes regarding medical care as dictated by the state of Florida, CDC and other agencies. Makes appropriate decisions regarding the well being of the client to include the need for medical evaluation and medication administration. Contacts medical director when necessary for orders or consultation as it pertains to treatment of the client.
Directs nursing staff as it relates to the treatment of the client and works cooperatively with all staff involved. Provides effective liaison with community medical services and professionals. Coordinates pharmacy and medical needs on a timely and efficient manner.
Demonstrates proper and safe utilization of all supplies and equipment. Attend and participate in program meetings and assigned committees. Participates in/or coordinates nursing staffs participation in client treatment planning.
Models appropriate and professional behavior (i.e., dress, habits, personality, tact, etc.) Relates with clients, parents, peers and the general public in a respectful and professional manner. Performs other duties as assigned. Generous PTO plan.

Bachelor's Degree required Licensed Registered Nurse in thestate of Florida. 5 years of relevant experience, including 2+ in a supervisory capacity working with at-risk youth in a residential/hospital setting preferred Strong organizational skills Excellent verbal, written and computer skills (word processing, data entry and Outlook) Valid driver's license in good standing Pay range is $75,000-$85,000 depending upon experience
