POSITIONSUMMARY:
The individual in thisposition will be responsible for the recruitment and management of studentsapplying to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program within the Schoolof Nursing, with particular concentration on the 4-year BSN track. This individual will manage a robustcommunication plan with prospective students and with internal and externalconstituencies of the University and the School of Nursing. This individual will report directly to theSchool of Nursing Director of Admissions.
DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:
Meets with prospectivestudents and their families throughout the recruitment and enrollment processto discuss the School of Nursing, Nursing as a profession, and DuquesneUniversity.
Develops a keen understanding of therequirements for admission to both the University and the School of Nursing.
Communicates effectively withprospective students regarding the application process and status throughoutthe admissions cycle. This requires extensive messaging such as phonecalls, emails, written correspondence, and social media channels. Providestimely and accurate program and admissions information, educational and careercounseling, and academic advising regarding the program of study andprerequisite coursework.
Evaluates applicants' credentials foradmission to the BSN program, and is adept at interpreting the uniquecharacteristics of each applicant.
Creates a welcoming environment andensures a positive experience for prospective and new students and theirfamilies.
Delivers presentations to audiencesof various sizes about nursing as a profession, and provides information aboutthe School of Nursing and Duquesne University at Open Houses, Admitted StudentDays, Information Sessions, and School Fairs. Travel to conferences and events throughout the year is expected.
Makes admission decisions andconsults with the Director of Admissions as necessary.
Collaborates with fellow School ofNursing Office of Recruitment and Enrollment Management personnel regardingmarketing, events, website, and social media.
Manages the transfer admissionprocess to the BSN program, including ensuring timely completed applicant filesand admission decisions.
Manages the BME/BSN recruitmentprocess.
Collaborates with multiple Universityand School of Nursing departments. Actively engages with the EnrollmentManagement Group and is responsible for translating university-levelrecruitment strategy.
Proposes recommendations to theSchool of Nursing's marketing and web/social media team regardingcommunications and recruitment assets.
Completes otherduties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:
3-5 years of experience inuniversity admissions, healthcare, marketing, communications, counseling or asimilar field
Bachelor's Degree from an accreditedinstitution in a related field
A valid driver's license
Knowledge about the profession ofnursing and nursing education is strongly desired
Preferred qualifications:
A Bachelor of Science inNursing (BSN) from an accredited institution is preferred.
Alternately, thesuccessful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience andtraining, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required toperform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, thefollowing:
Available to travel and work someweekends and evenings
Strong written and verbalcommunication skills
Excellent time managementorganizational skills
Highly proficient in the use of CRMs,computer programs such as Microsoft Office, electronic filing systems, andshared drives
Working knowledge of universityresources such as financial aid, disability services, and enrollment management
Exceptional intuitive andinterpersonal skills, and the ability to relate to students, faculty and otherprofessionals
Able to analyze relative informationand make appropriate independent decisions
