POSITION TITLE: PRIMARY CARE PRACTIONER (NP/PA) – ADULT MEDICINE
FULL-TIME/PART-TIME (24-40 hours weekly); Weekdays 8:00-5:30, some Saturdays 8:00-4:30
New Bedford Community Health (NBCH), is a fast-paced Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), dedicated to providing primary care services to the diverse and underserved patient populations in New Bedford, MA has an amazing outpatient opportunity in our Adult Medicine department.
Under the general supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, the Practitioner will responsible for:
• Compassionate and Comprehensive outpatient primary care services including but not limited to well and sick visits
• Providing immunizations, STI and common infections treatment and education
• Diagnosing patient injury/illness and provide appropriate treatment and education
• Managing complex medical issues within the scope of internal medicine practices
• Reviewing medical histories, interpreting diagnostic tests and labs
• Monitoring and ensuring patient satisfaction
• Facilitating appropriate utilization of the healthcare system and encourage appropriate follow-up care
Required Education:
• Current and unrestricted Massachusetts Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant License
• Active DEA and Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration
• Board Certification: Adult, Family Medicine or Geriatric
• Current BLS/CPR Certification
Other Skills & Qualifications:
• Experience in community and public health
• Comfortable with supporting LGBTQ+ population as well as individuals with substance abuse disorders (OBAT)
• Commitment and interest in working with multi-cultural and impoverished populations
• Primary or Secondary language skills in: Portuguese or Spanish (not required)
