This position is part of the VBA MDE (Veterans Benefits Administration Medical Disabilities Examinations) program.
- Start date: ASAP
- Schedule: Full Time, 4-5 days a week
- C&P exams (Compensation and Pension exams)
- No treatment and no prescribing involved

Your Daily Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments that help the VA answer questions about the Veterans’ current health.
- Prior to every exam, the practitioner reviews each Veteran’s medical or mental health history, using electronic bookmarks that highlight the portions applicable to the Veteran’s claim(s) condition.
- This material, paired with the Veteran’s responses collected during the exam, guides the practitioner through our web-based examination form.
- Electronic exam documentation needs to be submitted within 24 hours of each appointment.
- Common exams include: musculoskeletal, cardio and respiratory.
- Ancillaries (X-rays, labs, EKGs, PFTs, ABIs) may be ordered and will be conducted on-site or nearby depending on clinic capability.
- The practitioner will not make a determination of percent of disability or rating, develop any treatment plans or prescribe medication.
- Electronic exam documentation must be submitted within 24 hours of each appointment.
Skills You’ll Need:
- Exceptional clinical and communicative skills.
- Ability to expertly assess patients, both independently and in collaboration with physician.
- Detail oriented, confident, and present professionally.
- EMR experience is helpful.
Minimum Qualifications of NP or PA:
- Master’s degree or higher from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (NP) or Master's degree in Health Science (PA).
- Nationally recognized as a Nurse Practitioner or PA Certificate of Registration with the Medical Board in State of Practice or certification eligible and certified as a PA by the National Commission on Certification of PAs.
- Clinical experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Holds a current NP and RN license in State of Practice or a current PA license in State of Practice.
- BLS
