Program Description:
Brooklyn Park Clinic provides out-patient services to infants, children and teenagers. The clinic population is diverse including inner city and suburban families, and many non-English speaking families (interpreter services available).
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Pediatric Nurse Practitioners at the clinic provide a range of services from well-child care, sports physicals, management of acute and chronic illness, and addressing nutritional, developmental, and behavioral concerns. Providers should have a particular interest in providing trauma-informed and culturally-competent care. Clinic Nurse Practitioners are encouraged to develop areas of specialty focus some of which have included: lactation consultant, ADHD medication management, weight management, and birth control medication management.
Qualifications
Education: APRN: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program. Master’s Degree required; Doctorate preferred.
License / Certification: Current MN RN/APRN License. Nationally Board Certified as a Nurse Practitioner with either the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Current BLS required
