- Managing timely planning/organization of daily patient schedule
- Pre Procedure teaching/instruction to patients/caregivers
- Maintains direct communication with scheduling provider/physicians, staff and outside entities on interventional and non-interventional procedures
- Clinical decision making with provider/physician on scheduling of procedures
- Maintains/reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information. Posts tests and examination results to patient charts.
- Instructs and educates patients about proper physiological requirements for procedure and obtains informed consent.
- Assists in performing life-saving techniques to the patient as necessary.
- Serves as essential link between patients and providers
- Responds to / refers incoming patient treatment-related phone calls.
- Supporting patients/caregivers in understanding planned procedures and throughout the procedure process
- Ensuring patient charts are prepped prior to procedure & post procedure with proper documentation/physician signatures
- Communication with providers about daily schedule and scheduled start time
- Communication with providers about authorized procedures for patients
- Serves as a backup staff member for sick call, PTO, or increased caseload
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of professional cardiovascular nursing theory, regulations and practices to give and evaluate patient care.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish/maintain a safe work environment.
- Knowledge of nursing principles and protocols.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety and patient confidentiality.
- Knowledge of medical chart reporting/records.
