Job Summary
The Nurse Manager of the Stress Labs functions as the first-line administrative leader with 24 hour accountability for care delivery including budget and assigned departments. The Nurse Manager must able to navigate proficiently within the electronic health record(EHR). He/She must be able to clinically assist with patient care. The Nurse Manager coordinates, elevates and resolves problems and conflicts as they occur. With support from supervisors and charge staff, the Nurse Manager directly supervises the personnel assigned to the departments. He/she ensures the effective daily operation of the departments on 24-7 basis by monitoring all activities necessary to provide consistent high-quality patient care, including staffing, equipment, supplies and services. In this role, the Nurse manager will coordinate the activities of staff, is accountable for the effective and efficient operation of the unit and staff including those orders, treatments, plans of care, and clinical pathways are being carried out in a consistent manner. The manager has knowledge of the policies, procedures, and regulations that govern clinical practice and must exercise sound, independent judgment in adapting and applying leadership and clinical principles to specific situations. The manager relies on experience, judgment and collaboration to plan and accomplish goals. The Nurse manager assists in the advancement of the professional practice environment by communicating the NGHS organizational and nursing strategic plans and focusing on activities that support them. Provides support for staff engagement on appropriate professional nursing shared governance and other quality teams including coaching team members in their professional participation. Assists with overall clinical governance and other projects as assigned.
Minimum Job Qualifications
- Licensure or other certifications: Licensed to practice as a RN in Georgia. Current BLS certification
- Educational Requirements: Bachelors Degree
- Minimum Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years as a RN in an acute care setting. 3-5 years nursing leadership experience. 2 years leadership and/or supervisory in cardiology

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
- Actively monitors the quality of care delivered for non-invasive cardiology services. This monitoring includes performance improvement programming, clinical metrics, and any risk management metrics related to clinical care or department operations
- Responsible for creating a "Customer-Centric" customer service program. Actively rounds in assigned departments and
- works with the team to identify and address patient/family/physician concerns. Interfaces with patients and families to ensure that care is consistent with their expectations and organizational quality and customer service expectations.
- Assesses, coaches, and evaluates staff. Ensures that staff are current in competencies, assessments, licensure, certifications, and other annual training. Actively works with his/her leadership team to coach staff, recommend, and design
- education and training to meet the clinical needs of patients/staff served by the assigned departments/programs.
- Routinely interacts with physician customers. Supports his/her staff in maintaining effective and positive interactions with physicians. Coordinates communication between team members and attending physicians or clinical ancillary staff to ensure
- appropriateness of care and outcome planning for patients served by the department.
- Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees
- Participates actively in the planning and distribution of work assignments.
- Maintains regular ongoing contact/communication with all levels of staff. Responsible for working with leadership team to
- identify employee strengths, development needs, skills, interpersonal and personal style and relate those to the business needs and challenges faced by the team.
- Actively supports and promotes a professional practice model that encourages staff participation in the development of clinical standards that is collaborative, collegial, and utilizes best practice research
- Oversee various personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance evaluations, corrective actions, terminations, and other related activities
- Collaborates with reporting leader to determine fiscal requirements of assigned departments and prepare budgetary recommendations. Monitors the level of resource utilization, both labor and supplies, in the delivery of care and ensures that this care is delivered in fiscally responsible and efficient manners.
- Develops annual strategic goals and objectives in conjunction with the reporting leader to ensure resource efficiency, and to improve patient satisfaction and high-quality patient care delivery.
- Reviews quality and performance reports to ensure accuracy of data. Actively researches variances and develops appropriate action plans when indicated to reach clinical and financial goals
- Maintains required unit records, reports, and statistics for administrative purposes, and ensures compliance with established hospital policies, procedures, objectives, quality controls, and regulatory standards and requirements.
- Knowledgeable of organizational policies with respect to work rules. Monitors staff performance and competency and is responsible for providing meaningful feedback and corrective action, in a timely manner, as needed.
