COMPANY OVERVIEW: The mission of Good Samaritan Health Center of Cobb, a non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center, is "to spread the love of Christ by providing quality healthcare to those in need." SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for assisting providers with professional patient care to individuals from various cultures and ethnic backgrounds. Responsible for providing information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from clinic services. May be assigned to primary care or specific medical specialty (e.g., chronic conditions) to help with patient care related to that specialty. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Fulfills the clinic's mission to spread the love of Christ through quality healthcare to those in need while providing appropriate physical, emotional, and spiritual care for the whole person. * Adheres to infection control, safety protocols per OSHA guidelines, and all HIPAA guidelines and regulations for treating patient's information with privacy and respect. * Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned and privileged, which may include, but are not limited to: accompanying patients to exam / procedure room, administering shots, assisting patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exams, etc.; collecting patient history; performing screenings per provider guidelines, assisting physicians / nurses with various procedures; charting; and relaying instructions to patients / families. * Administrative responsibilities as assigned and privileged, which may include, but are not limited to: completing forms and managing charts to ensure information is completed and filed appropriately (e.g., vital signs). * Environmental responsibilities as assigned and privileged, which may include, but are not limited to: setting up instruments and equipment according to department protocol; cleaning exam / procedure rooms, instruments and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control. * Provides patient health counseling, education and instruction. * Assists with COVID-19 testing and vaccinations. * Creates and sends informational letters to eligible patients regarding cancer screening, vaccinations and other appropriate medical recommendations. * Monitors the daily triage schedule. EDUCATION: * Graduate from accredited School of Nursing * Current LPN or RN license for the state of Georgia. EXPERIENCE: * Minimum 3 years work experience in a healthcare setting * Bilingual Spanish preferred.
