Responsibilities As the Clinical Dialysis Nurse Manager the selected applicant will recommend appropriate patient follow-up and care options. Work collaboratively with the Interdisciplinary Team in achieving positive patient outcomes through the development of quality goals and implementation of action plans to address them. Oversee clinical staff training to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations. Ensure Infection Control Standards of practice are met according to regulatory guidelines. Rounding with patients to ensure all patient's clinical and personal concerns are addressed. Manage staff and programs of the renal dialysis department; Coordinate daily operations of dialysis services. Monitor standards and guidelines for dialysis treatment. Maintains excellent customer service relationships with all patients, patient families, and co-workers. Deliver outstanding customer service through all patient interactions. Primary duties include however are not limited to the following: The Nurse Manager is the designated first-line supervisory authority and is responsible and accountable for the 24/7 operation of their assigned units and provides coverage for other NMs as needed. Nurse Manager is responsible and accountable for the direction and supervision of specific orientation, training, development of staff, and evaluation of individual staff performance. Function as a role model, educator, practitioner, and supervisor providing leadership to the team. Enhance care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team to remove barriers and implement new evidence-based cutting-edge programs/processes. The Nurse Manager engages in professional organizations to enhance leadership and career growth. Adhere to ethical principles in decision-making, fostering accountability at personal, organizational, and staff levels. Equip staff with tools for culturally competent care and promotes a culture of accountability for high-quality, cost-effective outcomes. Cultivate alliances across the care continuum, building trust through active listening, engagement, and emotional intelligence. The Nurse Manager contributes to the development of care delivery models and environmental design, ensuring evidence-based, accessible, affordable, and equitable patient care. Ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards. Aligns nursing/clinical objectives with organizational strategic outcomes, participating in strategy planning and execution. The Nurse Manger maintains knowledge and ensures compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards, Directives, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOP). Physical Requirements: The position requires the incumbent to have visual acuity, keen hearing, clear distinctive speech, and manual dexterity. The incumbent must be mature, flexible, and sensible, capable of working effectively in stressful situations and able to shift priorities based on patient needs. This position requires limited periods of standing, stooping, bending, pulling, pushing, walking, and be able to lift up to 35 pounds. Transferring patients and objects may be required. This position also requires sitting for long periods typing on computer keyboard, looking at computer monitor, and using the telephone. The incumbent maybe exposed to infected patients and contaminated materials requiring the incumbent to don protective clothing and equipment in isolation situations or during invasive patient procedures. The incumbent may be exposed to patients who are combative or aggressive related to neurologic or psychiatric disorders.
