Coordinates the total nursing care plans for patients in outpatient/ambulatory Medical Specialties. Works with the Program Director to provide supervision and training of other nurses and staff within the department.

Essential Role Responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Works under the direction of the Program Director and Medical Director to oversee, manage, and train nurses and other staff within the department.
- Ensures that staff adhere to the departmental Standards of Care as well as Northeast Hospitals’ Policies and Procedures.
- Serves as clinical resource in delivery of patient care
- Promotes collaboration among staff, medical and administrative colleagues
- Promotes learning and team building environment
- Educates patients about health maintenance and disease prevention
- Communicates with collaborating physicians or specialists regarding care
- Conducts departmental in-services for continuing education.
- Assesses the patient’s condition; sets goals; prescribes appropriate nursing actions to meet those goals and the physical, psychological, social and rehabilitative needs of the patient, including discharge planning.
- Coordinates and/or performs physician ordered patient care following established guidelines and algorhythms.
- Directs and evaluates nursing care provided by others to patients in the Center.
- Assists with or institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in patients.
- Attends departmental meetings and participates in hospital committees as requested.
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
Education/Experience:
- BSN required.
- Minimum of 2 years management experience
Certification/License:
- Current R.N. license; BSN required
- Current B.L.S.
