Definition and Basic Function: Provide oversight of comprehensive and holistic care that will include direct care to individuals and initiate services designed to promote health, prevent illness, and ensure general well-being in keeping with the overall faith-based and spiritual vision and mission of Jessica & Friends Community including nutrition, exercise, and dealing with other individuals. Accountability: Executive Director of Operations Responsibilities: Promote and maintain health, safety, and welfare of all individuals we serve Work closely with residential managers to ensure that medical appointments are completed as well as follow-up care from the appointments Health Risk Safety Tool (HRST) Complete HRST on all new individuals Schedule yearly HRST team meetings for all individuals in residential Review HRSTmonthly making needed revisions Support direct support staff when dealing with illnesses, injuries, or health related issues involving the individuals we serve Complete monthly medication checks at each location Monitor medication labels against the MARs Check for expired medications Check that bubble packs are initialed Ensure that the MARs are completed accurately without errors Work closely with Program Managers, and staff when individuals are hospitalized and ensure follow up after discharge Complete monthly checks on medical equipment and supplies (AED, first aid supplies, over the counter medications, etc.) to ensure they are functional Promote and support healthy choices to advance and maintain wellness (ie:nutritional menus; monitoring weight; exercise) Other: Conduct quarterly in-service training for staff regarding diagnoses, health, medical equipment, and medication issues Attend monthly house/program meetings as needed Serve on safety committee Serve as emergency on-call for medical issues of individuals Participate in at least twenty-four hours of training each fiscal year as required by the regulations Develop and email monthly newsletter to all staff Work Schedule: Part-time: Generally 15 - 20 hours per week to be determined by the needs of the individuals. Could include evening and weekend work as needed (will be offset by time off during the week).All other duties as assigned.
