Nucor Steel-Nebraska is seeking applicants for the position of Electrical Engineer. The role of the Electrical Engineer includes but is not limited to providing technical support for maintenance and operations, power distribution design, electrical construction engineering, hardware and software automation engineering, maintaining and updating electrical prints and documentation, capital project management and assist with set up of preventative and predictive maintenance programs. Candidate must be willing to work scheduled/unscheduled overtime, weekends and holidays. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (Nucor will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field completed or planned completion by May 2024.
- Actively involved with a safety team and/or cost reduction team
- Knowledge of the rolling process or melting process and related equipment
