IFF Health is a global leader in probiotics, fibers, and naturals (herbal extracts and botanicals) for the nutraceutical industry. We offer industry leading natural products in the dietary supplements, medical food, and pharmaceuticals. This role will provide subject matter expertise on science and Technical support to the North American sales team. It will also provide a great opportunity for professional and personal development. The position will report to the North American Sales Director.
Role scope & Primary Responsibilities:
- You will be part of the North America Sales Team while also working closely with the Global Creative & Applications (C&A), Science and Marketing Teams in IFF Health.
- You will be giving our customers in the nutraceutical industry science, R&D and application support related to our ingredient solutions.
- Ability to convey technical/scientific data to all audiences.
- You will support and visit customers to provide technical support in close cooperation with our sales organization, and your colleagues in the application teams.
- You will participate in customer development projects and internal solution development projects to bring absolute best in class solutions to the end market.
- Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Ingredient education and customer engagement to drive interest and use in our products.
- Scientific support and claims substantiation to help customers develop engaging messaging.
- Formulation and Concept creation across a cross-functional team to develop innovative new product concepts to showcase the potential of IFF Health ingredients
- Build strong relationships with key customer counterparts
- Monthly reporting of key accomplishments and customer opportunities being supported
- Monitors and benchmarks competitive products, market requirements, market trends and competitive business strategies and incorporates benchmarking and competitive profiling in new business development activities.
- Provide internal feedback on customer/market trends and unmet needs as well as competitive activity.
- Contribute to the innovation pipeline by sharing industry insights and expertise with R&D team.
- Participate in regional sales meetings and external customer/industry events.
- Participate in all key performance management activities - goal setting, Employee Development Plans, performance reviews, etc.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, master or doctorate preferred in a science related field.
- Professional with a theoretical and practical background within the nutraceutical industry; experience in a B2C nutraceutical capacity would be a plus.
- Minimum 5-7 years’ experience within nutraceuticals – ideally product development/support, nutrition science and/or a related function from nutraceutical market. Candidates with shorter experience are expected to prove dedicated interest and knowledge in the specific field and relevant experience.
- Specific experience or competences within use of probiotics and other Health actives including botanicals will be considered a strong advantage.
- Able to work independently, but as a team player to understand how to function in a large organization and the importance of reaching common business objectives.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Additional Requirements:
- Domestic travel, up to 60% of the time, required.
