JOB DESCRIPTION
Be an integral part of a growing technical team supporting solving problems and driving the software development to success.

As an Agile Technical Project Manager at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking division, you will drive Agile and Lean frameworks that result in quality product delivery and continuous improvement, enabling the team to reach their goals. You will act as a servant leader for your teams by facilitating clear communication to management and to the team. You will work with multiple cross functional teams to work on relevant projects while building an environment that provides the support and mentorship needed to learn and grow. You will also be responsible for removing impediments that hinder the team from reaching their goals and has a flexible approach that enables the team to rapidly respond to changes.

Job responsibilities:

  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure team agreements are in place and roles / responsibilities are clear for team engagement. Coach and guide the team towards the agreed ‘ways of working’. Develop shared sense of ownership and commitment.
  • Makes sure that team members are well-trained and understand the Agile values and principles and the Scrum events, tools, artifacts and metrics.
  • Establish standards and templates to improve quality of requirements(user story) and outcome (definition of done and definition of ready)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders for continuous planning(Quarterly/PI Planning) including capacity planning & release planning.
  • Partner with Product on effective prioritized backlog management and Epic / user story definition.
  • Exhibit technical and business acumen to guide the team for big picture and better decision making.
  • Facilitate scrum ceremonies. (Backlog grooming, Sprint planning, Daily scrum, Sprint review, Sprint retrospective, Sprint demo).
  • Manage Release planning and dependencies. Drive scrum of scrums to track execution.
  • Resolve impediments/blockers by facilitating and bringing in needed people. Help the team focus on the goal of the sprint.
  • Contribute to effective and high-quality successful incremental delivery incorporating Agility best practices. Partner with the team to incorporate and contribute to sustaining frequent and high-quality delivery of prioritized features.
  • Emphasize quality and outcome. Measure performance against both business and tech OKRs. and drive improvements.
  • Enable and ensure clear communication on sprint goals and communication updates like biweekly sprint updates and Monthly tech reviews
  • Track, provide insights on Agile Metrics and coach for improvements. Leverage metrics to influence best practices.
  • Manage / provide oversight for Jira hygiene. Create and maintain JIRA hygiene dashboards, identify JIRA data integrity issues proactively and work with the team to fix it.
  • Identify continuous improvement activities to reduce waste (become leaner), increase productivity, increase speed-to-market, and improve the overall effectiveness of Agile within the teams
  • Build close and trusted relationship with Engineering Leads and Area Product Owners and meet with them regularly to discuss team dynamics to ensure the teams are delivering the work effectively and efficiently.
  • Communicate and / or resolve organizational impediments to adopting Agile best practices.
  • Bring ideas from professional facilitation, coaching, conflict management, mediation, and so on to help the team become a high-performance team

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on Agility Lead concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • A track record of success working as an Agility Lead supporting high performing software engineering teams
  • Adept at leveraging agile methodologies, values and principles to help the efficient planning, development and execution of complex technical initiatives.
  • CSM Certification is required.
  • An agile mindset with the ability to adapt to aggressive timelines and changing priorities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and influence various stakeholders at all levels including leadership.
  • Experience coaching and training teams on the adoption, extension and enhancement of agile principles.
  • Sound understanding of scaling frameworks such as LeSS and various other Agile frameworks such as Kanban, XP
  • Business, Technical acumen and solid understanding of SDLC.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • PMP Certification is desired.
