Your Role and Responsibilities
As the North America Health Manager at IBM, you will play a pivotal role as a trusted resource for IBM North America employees and retirees, ensuring the delivery and support of Health benefits, including Medical, Pharmacy, Dental, and Vision. We are seeking a proactive self-starter with a positive attitude to lead a team responsible for managing and enhancing these essential benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Team Leadership: Effectively manage a team of benefits offering managers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  2. Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert in healthcare benefits, possessing a deep understanding of large self-insured medical benefits and benefits administration. Actively participate in designing and strategizing benefits recommendations for executive leadership, as well as engage in RFP activities.
  3. Vendor Management: Oversee vendor contracts and relationships, including negotiation of contract terms, performance guarantees, and contract finalization and amendments. Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external vendor partners to ensure seamless benefit administration aligned with IBM's objectives.
  4. Compliance and Auditing: Support internal business controls and audits conducted by Corporate Audit and PwC Auditors. Conduct vendor reviews to ensure contract compliance.
  5. Benefit Redesign: Execute and implement redesigned benefits, including communications tailored to business needs, workforce requirements, and legislative changes. This may involve revising employee-facing communications, policies, and plan documents.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  1. Extensive Expertise: in crafting and overseeing health benefits strategies and administration.
  2. Project Mastery & Project Management: Proficiency in steering intricate projects involving multifaceted teams, both internal and external. Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, adept at managing time effectively even amidst competing demands and pressing business exigencies. Possess a keen understanding of business operations and substantial management experience. Excellent command of project management techniques and practices.
  3. Influential Communication: Exceptional capacity to sway and guide decisions, with a commanding executive presence, and the skill to convey ideas and solutions with utmost clarity. Diligent listening skills coupled with outstanding written and verbal communication capabilities.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
• Strong knowledge of US Health & Welfare benefit programs
• CEBS - Certified Employee Benefits Specialist
• Previous Healthcare consulting experience or large employer equivalent experience

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
