Nonprofit Communications/Outreach Specialist

The nonprofit OC Goes Solar has a half-time opening for a Operations/Communications Coordinator to become an integral part of our team! Among other projects, we manage the City of Irvine’s Solarize Irvine program, a rooftop solar promotion campaign, and partner with the California PUC SOMAH program to put solar on multifamily affordable housing.

A person with substantive experience working in nonprofits, government, or the like in support of community outreach and project management would be ideal. That said, belief in our mission to make clean energy accessible to all, creative passion, people skills, and willingness to learn are more important than experience.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities include a wide variety of simple to complex communications and outreach functions to support organization projects and programs and enhance the organization’s public outreach and community engagement activities.

Works in a team setting with organization administrative staff to support overall organization administrative functions.

Responsibilities include:

· Manage day to day communications and operations.

· Responsible for accurately inputting and compiling organizational data.

· Connect with community members to introduce programs & services.

· Establishing and building relationships with local organizations

· Writes simple to complex contents for web and social media outreach.

· Generating reports, presentations, managing files, and maintaining effective communication within the team.

· Create social media content calendar and posting for all events.

· Ensure regular website updates with relevant content, photos, and videos.

Desired qualifications:

· Previous experience in communications, operations, public outreach & marketing.

· Bachelor's degree.

· Excellent written and oral communication, & people skills.

· Data entry & management.

· Strong working knowledge of MS Office and Data Visualization tools, including G suite.

· Knowledge of Salesforce and other CRM management is a plus

· Bilingual in Spanish, Chinese, or Korean
