Here at Hallgan LLC, we are looking for reliable and professional NEMT drivers to join our team on the Southside of Hampton Roads. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Safely transport clients to and from medical appoint
- ments
- Observe and follow all traffic rules and regulations
- Inspect vehicles before shift by checking fuel, oil, water, tires, lights, brakes and steering to ensure vehicle can be operated safely. Notify supervisor of mechanical defects or needed repairs.
- Assisting clients with mobility and personal care needs
- Follow safety and COVID protocols
- Instruct clients on safe riding rules and regulations
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation
- Communicating with dispatch and other team members as needed
- Report and document all accidents, vehicle damage, client incidents and mechanical failures.
- Keep the assigned vehicle clean and fueled.
- Wheelchair and Gurney lift operation
- Ability to lift ~ 90 lbs
- Arrive on time and pick up/deliver our patients safely to their destination
- Must be familiar with smartphones & tablets and must have a cell phone.
- Compassionate towards the disabled and elderly.
Requirements:
- Valid VA,MD,TN, or NC driver's license and clean driving record
- Must be at least 20 years old
- Experience as a NEMT driver is preferred, but we will consider candidates with prior driving experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test
- Ability to pass First Aid & CPR training course
- Must have a positive attitude, good communication skills and be empathetic and polite.
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle unexpected situations with professionalism and care

Hallgan LLC has over 15 years of combined service in the NEMT service. We are looking for drivers to transport clients to and from medical appointments and other engagements. Many of our clients are disabled and may need to be transported by wheelchair or gurney.
