JOB SUMMARY
Supplemental Instruction (SI) is a peer-led academic assistance program designed to improve students’ academic performance and increase retention. SI Leaders facilitate a peer-to-peer learning environment through weekly study sessions. SI Leaders are responsible for attending all lectures for their assigned class; facilitating peer study sessions for their assigned course for at least 2 hours per week; participating in SI Leader group meetings and training as scheduled; and communicating regularly with the SI coordinator.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Must have the capacity to work with students from diverse backgrounds
- Must be committed to working the assigned schedule
- Must attend mandatory training prior to Fall/Spring semester and monthly staff meetings
- Must have effective communication skills

- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Earned a grade of B+ or higher in the selected course at UHD
- Faculty recommendation (content competency is required)
