Job description

The NNV Director of Slots is responsible for the overall operation, planning and administration of the slot floor and all slots gaming activity for both Grand Lodge and Stockman's Casino. The Northern Nevada Director of Slots plans and oversees slot operations including supervising and providing leadership to shift managers, supervisors, slot representatives and technicians and ensuring that all guests receive fast, friendly and efficient guest service.

  • Responsible for directing the overall slot operations and staff for both Grand Lodge and Stockman's Casinos.
  • Analyze machine win/hold percentage;
  • Coordinate's analysis of slot equipment performance;
  • Analyzes and recommends changes to the participation footprint on the slot floor.
  • Develops and provides full ROI analysis when recommending new slot purchases.
  • Reviews all slot machine promotions and provides input and suggestions to the Director of Marketing for improvement.
  • Determines types, locations, denominations, and number of slot machines on the floor while merchandising the slot floor in an appealing manner.
  • Partners with VIP team to establish and maintain contact with VIP guests.
  • Participates in Special Events targeted at casino guests.
  • Ensures all machine repairs, and jackpot payoffs are performed in a timely and professional manner and that all forms are completed thoroughly and accurately.
  • Ensures regularly scheduled and executed preventive maintenance programs for all slot equipment and the analysis of slot equipment financial performance.
  • Skilled in developing relationships with guests, resolving player disputes; and comping qualified players appropriately while ensuring that all laws, gaming regulations, policies and procedures are followed.
  • Prepares yearly operating and capital budget and plans and controls performance against the budgets and plans.
  • Communicates and works with executive management in planning large scale slot projects, such as machine moves, equipment installations and equipment upgrades.
  • Keeps current with the latest slot industry technical developments and properties are always on the "forefront" of relevant trends.
  • Directly supervises, maintains awareness, and monitors activity of shift managers, floor supervisors and slot employees. Providing schedules, work assignments, training, directions, and accountability for results (follow-up), rewards, disciplinary actions, information, and performance reviews.
  • Ensures all slot employees adhere to casino policies and procedures, and all regulations of the Gaming Control Board.

  • Promotes teamwork within slot department and with other departments.
  • Ensures proper procedures are followed when slot machines are placed on or taken off the floor.
  • Maintains excellent relationships with vendors, staying informed of game and related product performance.
  • Attends gaming shows and seminars as needed.

  • Ensures all slot machines are in good repair and in working order at all times.
  • Develops and implements Slot Department policies and procedures to improve security and efficiency, and to safeguard assets.
  • Acts with discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive material; required to sign and adhere to a confidentiality agreement.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, work environment within area of responsibility.
  • Assures Slot Department is in compliance with federal currency transaction reporting requirements (Title 31) as well as all Minimum Internal Controls.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned
  • Requires minimum of five (5) years in slot operations management
  • Previous casino experience is required
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field from an accredited four-year college or university required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with Konami gaming system preferred
  • Able to obtain/maintain necessary licenses and/or certifications as required by local gaming regulations.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be fluent and literate in English.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism

  • Working knowledge of slot management system
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Auto-Cad
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment while demonstrating good personal relations/ guest service skills
  • Knowledge of effective money handling procedures
  • Must be a self-starter and ability to adjust to change
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff, and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Must be highly organized and have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
