Position Title:Nursing Department Manager, NICU
Position Type: Regular Full-Time
Location: 9333 Imperial Hwy., Downey, CA 90242
Shift: Mid-Shift
Hours: 11am to 7pm, 5 days a week
Salary Range: $148,800 $192,500 / yr
Bonus: We are offering a 10% sign-on bonus. There is also the potential to earn up to a 15% bonus based off the annual salary. The amount is based primarily off the performance of the medical center.
Requirement: we need someone with a national certification, BSN, and related Master's. Must have at least 5yrs of NICU experience, 3 of those years in a Supervisor/Mgmt role.
Required (non-negotiable)

• CA RN license.
• American Heart Association BLS.
• NRP.
• RNC-NIC.
• BSN or MSN.
• At minimum candidate needs to have 5 years of FT equivalent level III NICU RN experience. Experience must be current or very recent.
• At minimum candidate needs to have 3 years of FT equivalent level III NICU Manager or Supervisor experience. Charge Nurse experience doesnt meet this requirement. Experience must be current or very recent.

Overview: This position will manage a level III NICU. This is a CCS designated facility, 1 of 3 tertiary Southern California. There are 49 NICU beds with an average census of 30+ and approximately 141 NICU employees. This position is 1 of 3 Nurse Managers that oversee the NICU department, each works a different shift with some overlap. The Nurse Manager will also cover the Pediatric Unit and PICU as needed. Work hours are primarily 11am - 8pm.

Experience

• Minimum five (5) years of clinical nursing experience relevant to a given position/department required, including three (3) years of management, supervisory or leadership* experience.

Education

• Academic degree in nursing required (Bachelors or Masters degree).
• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• BSN and National Health/Nursing Administration Certification or MSN are required for PICU and NICU Departments for facilities that are CCS certified or desire CCS certification.

License, Certification, Registration

• Registered Nurse License (California)
• Basic Life Support

Additional Requirements:

• * Leadership Experience will be permissible for Kaiser Permanente internal applicants only and is defined by the following criteria: Demonstrated clinical nursing leadership as a Charge/Senior RN, participation on professional committees inclusive of UBTs, National Certification in Specialty, demonstrated completion of RN Leadership Development Program and/or demonstrated experiential exposure to Nursing Leadership.
• Knowledge of Nurse Practice Act, TJC, and other local, state, federal regulations.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and management skills.
• Consistently demonstrates the knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors necessary to provide superior and culturally sensitive service to each other, to our members, and to customers, contracted providers, and vendors.
