Join a talented group of 75 dietitians at the University of Virginia Health System in beautiful Charlottesville, Virginia. At this level one trauma center, dietitians play an integral role on multidisciplinary teams in many specialty areas, both in the 675 bed inpatient setting, as well as in over 35 outpatient clinics. RDs participate in research and quality improvement projects, host dietetic interns, and are supported in pursuing leadership and community service experiences. Continuing education opportunities are plentiful from within the accomplished nutrition team and from the health system which values ongoing training and education.
This full-time, 40 hr/wk position will join our pediatric team of 17 RDs. The RD will assess, advise, monitor and document infants' nutritional plans in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU), alongside one other NICU RD. The RD will round with the medical team several times per week. The RD will be involved in teaching residents, advanced practice providers, and fellows, and will precept dietetic interns. The RD will participate in quality improvement projects. Obtaining CNSC (Certified Nutrition Support Clinician) is strongly recommended within two years of hire.
Qualifications:
- Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
- Licensed by the State Dietetics Licensing Board, in states where required
- Two (2) years of experience in area of specialty required
- Specialty certification when applicable
- Possess the necessary skills to effectively utilize Microsoft applications, electronic medical record & diet office systems, and nutrient analysis programming
