Position Title: Dietitian: Charlottesville, VA. to include Adult Inpatient Coverage at the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville, VA.

Job Summary
Join a talented group of 75 dietitians at the University of Virginia Health System in beautiful Charlottesville, Virginia. At this level one trauma center, dietitians play an integral role on multidisciplinary teams in many specialty areas, both in the 675 bed inpatient setting, as well as in over 35 outpatient clinics. RDs participate in research and quality improvement projects, host dietetic interns, and are supported in pursuing leadership and community service experiences. Continuing education opportunities are plentiful from within the accomplished nutrition team and from the health system which values ongoing training and education.
This full-time position will include adult inpatient coverage. Offering opportunities for professional growth, this position will work closely with nursing, the medical team, therapies, social work, and case management to care for patients admitted to the hospital and following an oral diet.
Key Responsibilities:

• Provides medical nutrition therapy including nutrition assessment, diet modification, nutrition education, and intervention for the patient population
• Follows all guidelines as outlined within the Company Diet Manual and the Clinical Nutrition Policies & Procedures Manual
• Complies with all regulatory standards to include federal, state, and accrediting agencies while adhering to facility confidentiality, HIPPA regulations, and patient rights policies
• Trains and mentor's patient services staff and interns as applicable
• Participates in patient satisfaction programs, departmental meetings, and facility wide Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement programs

Qualifications:

• Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
• Licensed by the State Dietetics Licensing/Credentialing Board, in states where required
• One (1) year of hospital experience, preferred
• Possess the necessary skills to effectively utilize Microsoft office applications, electronic medical record & diet office systems, and nutrient analysis programming
