Position Summary
The Newsstand Sales Supervisor supervises and participates in all store operation activities while ensuring excellent customer service and the highest levels of cleanliness and housekeeping. The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring company policies and procedures are adhered to;the Supervisor must take immediate and prompt action to address any deficiencies. Additionally, must lead by example, maintain a positive demeanor, and have a neat and professional appearance with good hygiene. A Supervisor may be responsible for multiple store locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Possessing the necessary experience and ability for supervising and exerting positive influence over critical in-store customer service and sales support functions, the Newsstand Sales Supervisor must be able to perform the following tasks:
- Perform store opening and/or closing procedures accurately, efficiently, and according to company’s standard operating procedures.
- Operate cash registers and handle sales transactions effectively, accurately, and in accordance with the company’s standard operating protocols.
- Provided constructive feedback and performance counseling to staff.
- Approach customers in a cheerful, pleasant, helpful, and courteous manner to include greeting, suggestive selling, and departing remarks.
- Obtain and exhibit a through knowledge and understanding of all product assortment offered for sale in order to discuss available options with customers.
- Maintain a thorough awareness of customer, personnel, vendor, and merchandise movement within the store and assure security over all company assets.
- Assist in visual merchandising, as directed by senior staff, keeping work location neat, clean, and attractive.
- Receive, display, and inventory merchandise shipments and transfers when applicable.
- Process and maintain in-store merchandise inventory records when applicable.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Provide regular and predictable attendance.
- Preform all essential job functions without posing a direct threat of harm, offence, or discrimination to yourself or others.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Ability to work 12:30pm to store closing time (no exceptions)
- High school or equivalent diploma
- Prior retail or cashier experience
- Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays, weekends, and as needed
- Ability to effectively communicate in spoken English
- Ability to maintain a cheerful, pleasant, helpful and courteous disposition with customers and co-workers throughout the work day.
Physical Demands:

- Requires prolonged standing, for a minimum 6 hours at a time.
- Requires walking short and long distances transporting merchanting between locations.
- Requires the ability to travel inside, outside, and between work locations.
- Requires squatting, crouching, stooping, bending, stretching, and reaching.
- Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Requires the ability to withstand at times high level noise with in airport locations and at off-site locations.
