Job Summary/Description:
KCBD is looking for a hard-working, creative, and energetic storyteller to join our award winning team as a newscast producer. This is a full-time position that will invest, train and provide opportunities for the winning candidate to grow and advance.
Producing, with other producers and anchors, our #1-rated newscasts. You will collaborate with other team members to deliver the best possible product on-air.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Overseeing our news gathering process
- Writing and publishing news content for newscast, digital platforms and social media
- Being a team player
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Ability to creatively tell stories using video, utilizing natural sound and creative editing techniques
- Must be capable of writing and producing pre-planned and breaking news coverage
- Must work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Must practice solid news judgment and have knowledge of current events
- Must be able to make good decisions quickly
- Hands-on experience with editing software
- Able to conduct interviews to get information
- Ability to represent the station professionally in the community and newsroom
- Must be able to work well independently and with others
- College degree in journalism or related field is preferred. Related experience is a plus
- Valid driver's license and excellent driving record
