We are a prominent commercial Bakery located in downtown Brooklyn, actively seeking a dynamic Sanitation Supervisor to oversee the efficient cleaning and maintenance of our entire facility, including processing areas, packaging zones, offices, warehouse, and exterior spaces. The Sanitation Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices by supervising the sanitation of food processing equipment, floors, walls, and related facility areas.
Daily Job Duties:
- Delegate daily work orders to sanitation leaders and assist the Sanitation Manager in creating schedules.
- Update MSS and Daily porter work assignments in collaboration with the Sanitation Manager.
- Lead wet, dry, and allergen cleaning efforts as scheduled.
- Coordinate with external waste company for waste and cardboard removal.
- Generate Purchase Orders as requested by management and negotiate pricing with vendors.
- Verify chemical titrations throughout the facility and collaborate with the Chemical company to ensure proper PPE and chemical handling procedures for sanitation associates.
- Ensure annual training for sanitation porters and leaders.
- Conduct safety huddles when necessary with sanitation porters, leaders, and production associates.
- Assist the sanitation manager in interviewing sanitation prospects.
- Verify daily porter assignments, wet, dry, and allergen clean assignments, and MSS assignments.
- Maintain records of sanitation equipment specifications and updated SDS sheets for chemicals used.
- Report waste removal metrics to upper management.
- Train leaders on ATP testing via the Hygiena SureTrend software post-sanitation and verify all ATP testing results.
- Support the pest control program by shadowing inspections and updating the pest control logbook.
- Input work orders via proprietary software when opportunities are identified throughout the facility.
- Participate in sanitation meetings with maintenance, quality, and production teams to review opportunities on down days for corrective actions.
- Engage in weekly meeting huddles, operation meetings, and facility walks.
- Review weekly inventory levels and assist quality in pre-operation inspections.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to GMP policy by all sanitation associates.
Additional Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform non-management job functions in emergencies or when a lack of available human resources could result in losses for the company.
- Monitor, uphold, and enforce company policies and standards at all times.
- Support the management team by attending meetings and providing insights to upper management regarding operational problems.
- Undertake other duties as assigned by the Sanitation Manager.
Seasonal Responsibilities:
- Lawn Care (April to September): Ensure scheduled lawn care activities are conducted.
- Snow Removal (Winter Months): Ensure timely snow removal when needed.
