Network Test Engineer III-CMTS/DOCSIS/PON exp
External Job Description:
Unison Systems is looking for a Test Engineer with CMTS and DOCSIS experience for our national telecommunications client. This will be a long term month contract. Our client is located out of Englewood, CO and offers 2 days a week flex/remote work but candidates must be local as we frequently need to physically touch hardware inside of the lab. This person will be doing extensive testing in the lab. Must have CMTS experience and understanding of DOCSIS. We are looking for someone who understands routing and switching. Must have a personality to figure stuff out and think outside the box.
Plans and implements enterprise networks and related hardware and software. Designs and documents network architecture. Performs assessments on existing technologies to determine performance and capacity gaps. Establishes security (firewalls, intrusion detection), connectivity and access parameters. Provides recommendations to optimize network infrastructure. Tests and tunes security devices and systems. Programs routers and switches. Implements communications technologies (data or voice). Manages network services from planning phase through implementation. Solid knowledge of routing protocols, network hardware and software, security technologies and network infrastructure is required.
5- 10 years of experience.
Additional Skillsets being sought:
Advanced knowledge of the DOCSIS and EPON standards
Working knowledge of CMTS platforms including:
Casa C100G
Arris E6000
Cisco cBR8
RPHY
Harmonic vCMTS and RPDs
Working knowledge of EPON platforms including:
ADTRAN 95XX and SDX-6210
Vecima (Nokia) 7360 and Distributed Access Architecture SF-4x, SC-2D3
Working knowledge of switch platforms including:
Cisco NCS/ASR
Juniper PTX/QFX/ACX
Working knowledge of routing protocols including:
OSPF
ISIS
BGP
v4/v6 Multicast
-Ability to write technical documentation
-Ability to write and follow detailed technical test plans
