SUMMARY
Configure, repair and maintain the company’s entire network infrastructure. Ensure proper operation and system uptime.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Install, configure, operate, maintain and troubleshoot company’s voice and data network switches, routers and other related systems.
- Must configure, operate, maintain and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls and other network components.
- Must configure, modify and troubleshoot MPLS and Ethernet/IP networks and protocols.
- Work service orders and trouble tickets in a timely manner.
- Assist field and NOC technicians with installations, troubleshooting and repairs.
- Must be able to work in a group environment and contribute as a team member during difficult operating conditions that require immediate actions.
- Monitor, analyze and troubleshoot Network to ensure performance and stability.
- Work a rotation of 24hr On-call shift for at least one week of every month. Work during weekends and Holidays may be required.
- Must be Customer Service oriented and communicate in a professional polite manner.
- Complete service order and trouble ticket documentation in a clear manner
- Participate in technical meetings to contribute knowledge and expertise.
- Performs all other duties as required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of direct experience in related environment and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. A strong aptitude for hands-on application of a broad variety of tools and instruments.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Knowledge in Networking, MPLS (L2-L3 VPN), Ethernet, OSPF, BGP maintenance and configuration.
- Knowledge in configuring and troubleshooting VoIP systems and protocols such as SIP, MGCP.
- Knowledge in routers switches and firewalls.
- Skills in configuration and maintenance of networks such as MPLS (L2-L3 VPN), Ethernet, Frame Relay, PPPoE, OSPF, BGP and other routing protocols.
- Working knowledge with troubleshooting tools such as Sunrise, Wireshark, OTDR, SNMP and others.
