Network Operations Manager

This is a hybrid role, based in G-Research's office in Dallas.

The role
G-Research is looking for a Network Operations Manager to shape and mature our current operational processes through automation and observability.
This role requires a mix of leadership and technical capabilities. You will be leading a talented team of Engineers and demonstrate technical competency, reliable delivery and support of mission critical infrastructure; ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security.
Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Overseeing all elements of datacentre, WAN and office network management and support, through agile delivery and KLO activities
• Leading a team of Engineers supporting and developing an event driven network architecture through automation and observability, adhering to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles
• Helping to mature observability of the network to ensure proactive support and resolution
• Developing positive working relationships with wider teams to align and deliver strategic business outcomes
• Collaborating closely with Network Engineering, Network Security and Datacentre teams
• Developing and supporting a high performing culture of continuous improvement
• Coaching team members to maximize their potential and aligning them to common goals
• Managing vendors and budget

Who are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• A technical background in networking
• A proactive mind set, demonstrating initiative and positive work ethic
• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline operations and engineering
• Solid interpersonal skills and comfortable interacting with stakeholders, at both infrastructure and application levels
• Experience with Cisco/Arista switches and routers
• Technical and commercial management of physical circuits and routes
• Understanding of automation, scripting and CI/CD tooling, such as Ansible, Python, and Jenkins
• Knowledge of monitoring and data analytics tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Open Telemetry and ELK
