Our work depends on a Network Operations Manager joining our team to support Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) activities in Rockville, Maryland.

HOW A NETWORK MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

• Manages network administration and support operations for a program or customer, including supervising assigned professional and support staff.
• Responsible for planning, organizing, and managing staff and overall operations to ensure stability of customer's infrastructure.
• Creating and implementing guidelines, processes, and practices to ensure smooth departmental operations.
• Reviewing reports and offering suggestions for performance enhancement based on statistical evidence.
• Responsible for overall Network Operations, NOC, and leading Network severity events on the HHS NGITS program.
• Excellent communications skills with past success leading enterprise network teams with overall financial responsibility.
• Proven ability to lead implementation of enterprise solutions from requirements gathering through execution and hand-off to operations team. Demonstrated history of successful implementations.
• Ability to create and follow standard processes.
• Enforce standard Network best practices and integration of all tools to increase overall security posture.
• Experience in identification of potential security incidents (IOCs), leading incident responses, reporting to Government, and compiling after action reports.
• Experience with tools sets or comparable network implementations to include: Cisco (routers/switches/WAP/NACISE, etc.)
• Planning and executing large scale Enterprise complex infrastructure projects.
• Partner with business stewards to define target and maintain business architectures.
• Provide technology and network architecture guidance, support, and share decision ramifications to technology, business and other enterprise architecture teams.
• Ensure optimization of IT investments and best fit within target state architecture.
• Evaluate the impact of enterprise architecture work and services on IT investments, business operations, and customer fulfillment.
• Create performance metrics and traceability maps to determine the effectiveness of business and technology architecture and facilitate governance.
• Partner with other departments to identify opportunities for enhanced efficiency in strategic and tactical efforts. Review and assess proposed or current projects for adherence to architecture standards. Confer with business units and application development staff to understand the business requirements.
• Participate in risk management process, change control, corrective and preventative actions.
• Lead process improvement.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Education: BS/BA Degree
• Experience: 5+ years' relative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience with proven successful transition, implementation, and execution on large IT infrastructure and operations task orders.
• Demonstrated experience managing and ensuring the successful completion of multiple technical tasks in assigned program(s).
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, hire, manage, supervise, train, schedule, coordinate, and evaluate staff as assigned.
• Must be able to obtain a Position of Trust and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting.
  • US Citizenship or Green Card Holder required
  • Must have been in the US for at least 3 out of the last 5 years.
