Provide technical and operational expertise for communication device hardware and software development, testing, and utilization. Interface with hardware, software, and human systems integration engineering personnel to support product improvement. Develop and present formal training courses and materials. Conduct training task analysis. Assure that uniform and efficient training and publications processes are applied on assigned programs. Evaluate training methods and recommend changes/improvements to ensure efficient and effective qualification of students. Primary duties could possibly require travel, both domestically and internationally including deployments and training exercises.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining computer networks including mainframes, VPNs, routers and other physical hardware.
- Installing and configuring network equipment.
- Creating firewalls and data security systems to keep data and communications protected.
- Monitoring computer systems to improve network performance.
- Assist in field-operations where networks require bridging and segmentation.
- Support UAS radio network, become familiar and support Silvus, TrellisWare, Harris and MPU5 and SCISR radios.
- Develop bridged 3G, 4G/LTE, 5G network relay systems in conjunction with Silvus, TrellisWare, Harris and MPU5 and SCISR radios.
- Troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management.
- Planning, engineering, and monitoring security arrangements for protection of network systems.
- Identifying, monitoring, and defining requirements of the overall security of systems.
- Creating ways to solve existing threats and security issues.
- Configuring and implementing intrusion detection systems and firewalls.
- Testing and checking systems for weaknesses in software and hardware.
- Maintaining firewalls, virtual private networks, web protocols, and email security.
- Managing virus and threat detection systems.
- Configuring and installing security infrastructure devices.
- Investigating intrusion and hacking incidents, collecting incident responses, and carrying out forensic investigations.
- Determining latest technologies and processes that improve the overall security of the system.
- Using industry-standard analysis criteria to test security levels.
- Developing tracking documents to note system vulnerabilities.
- Reporting the security analysis and monitoring findings.
- Supervising the configuration and installation of new software and hardware.
- Implementing regulatory systems in accordance with IT security.
- Informing the company about the security incidents as soon as possible.
- Modifying the technical, legal, and regulatory aspects of the system security.
- Defining and maintaining security policies.
- Occasionally replacing the security system protocol and architecture.
- Maintaining switches and servers.
