About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Network Engineering Senior Manager to join our Technology organization and be part of our Chief Technology Office (CTO). Learn more about the career areas and business divisions at wellsfargojobs.com.

Our Secure Network Services Application Hosting Product provides foundational network infrastructure leveraged by Wells Fargo products and platforms in the Wells Fargo Data Centers. We also provide connectivity to business partners, the public Internet and Public Cloud Providers. ​Our goal is to accelerate the provisioning of network capacity through full automation, providing transparency to the consumer and the network operators throughout the lifecycle of the infrastructure. The products provided by Application Hosting enable Technology Infrastructure to securely communicate to employees, customers and partners while seamlessly integrating into the supply chain.

In this Network Engineering Senior Manager role, you will manage two agile teams of engineers responsible for developing new Internet and Business to Business network hosting solutions and deliver automation for those solutions.


In this role, you will:

  • Manage and develop teams of individual contributors and managers in roles with moderate complexity and risk maintaining the enterprise network

  • Collaborate with network engineers and Information Technology Team to design and implement the company's network infrastructure, resolving advanced support issues

  • Engage and influence stakeholders, internal partners and peers associated with the Network Engineering function

  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development

  • Manage network, delegate tasks and ensure networking team performs as a cohesive unit, maintaining the stability and performance of network

  • Determine appropriate strategy and actions of Network Engineering team to meet moderate to high risk deliverables

  • Interpret and develop policies and procedures for Network Engineering functions with moderate complexity within scope of responsibility

  • Create and implement network security measures

  • Develop a backup disaster recovery plan for a network emergency

  • Collaborate with and influence all levels of professionals, including managers

  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives in Network Engineering

  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy


Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of Network Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 3+ years of Management experience

  • 3+ years of experience in automating various activities related to Network

  • 6+ years of experience with Datacenter Networking technologies, Network Virtualization, LAN switching technology, routing protocols, SDWAN, or Wireless LAN

  • 6+ years of experience with Network hardware like switches, routers, and WLAN devices from industry leading equipment vendors

  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience with people development skills to hire, coach, develop, and mentor team members


Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced scripting experience using Unix Shell Scripting, Ansible, Perl, Python, YAML, Java, or PL-SQL

  • Experience developing and using RESTful Application Program Interface (API)

  • Experience with Linux OS environment

  • Experience with source coding in one or a combination of the following: GitHub, SVN(Subversion), TFVC (Team Foundation Version Control) or TFSGit (Team Foundation Server)

  • Experience with creating and or updating technical design documentation used by engineering teams

  • Experienced in Routing and Switching

  • Experience in new technologies such as cloud-based network solutions

  • Experience with LAN, WAN, WLAN, SDWAN hardware from Cisco or Arista

  • Experience with network planning, design, and implementation

  • Knowledge and understanding of project coordination in an IT environment

  • Experience in initiating and driving end to end process improvement

  • Experience with Agile methodology

  • Experience working in a large enterprise environment

  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) or Cloud certifications
