The Role:

The Network Engineering Professor is directly responsible for developing and delivering courses that ensure UAT students achieve their program’s learning outcomes, complete their programs.

The professor teaches and provides students a strong foundational knowledge of network and systems engineering concepts, while exploring key concepts such as routing, switching, server operating systems, email systems, IP Telephony, wireless and virtualization. Additionally, the professor will prepare students to understand all things physical in a contemporary IT architecture and provide students the knowledge to identify and understand server infrastructures to create business solutions.

Essential Duties:

• Inspire, motivate, and mentor students
• Facilitate relevant student projects and innovations
• Development and delivery of coursework that reflect current, emerging, and future technologies and practices in the Cyber Security industry
• Be an active member of the cyber security community and encourage student participation
• Mentor and leave students in ethical hacking and good digital citizenship

Education and Skills Requirements:

• Mastery of secure network architecture
• Fluent in multi-platform systems administration
• Specific Courses:
  • Linux I for Technologists
  • IoT Architecture and Security
  • Network Infrastructure Design I & II
  • Virtualization System Technologies and Administration
  • Managing Enterprise Networks
  • Applied Mobile Computing and Cloud Collaboration Technologies
  • Unix/Linux Systems Administration
  • Modern Data Center and Cloud Computing Design and Services
  • Directory Services Design and Administration 
• Master's degree in related field with 18+ credit hours in relevant coursework required; doctoral degree preferred

Important Notes:

Location Requirements:This is not a remote position; candidates must be willing to work in-person on campus in Tempe, AZ.

Adjunct Pay: $2,800 for in-person courses

Part-Time: $30,000-$50,000 dependent on Education and Experience (not-benefits eligible)

Full-Time Compensation and Benefits: $60,000-$100,000 depending on experience and education
