The Teachers’ Retirement System of the State of Kentucky (TRS) is seeking a Network Engineer for its Information Technology Department. Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience and hold a bachelor’s degree. The position provides senior level support for enterprise initiatives and network administration, including long-term strategies and contingency plans. Primary Role:
This Network Engineer position is part of the infrastructure team within Information Technology. Duties include working with hardware configuration, virtualization, operating systems, backup, credentialing, encryption, messaging, and other matters. The engineer will be required to work Monday through Friday with some afterhours and weekends as needed. Currently, this is a work from home position with onsite as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinates the design, planning, implementation, operations and senior level support for enterprise initiatives and services.
- Acts as point of contact for diagnosis and resolution of complex network problems.
- Reviews and makes recommendations on documentation, proposals, and bids for complex networking solutions and services.
- Prepares written documentation for complex networking issues.
- Formulates long-term network management strategies and contingency plans.
- Analyzes and prepares written recommendations of new networking technologies.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Five years of experience maintaining networks
- Ability to work as a team and independently.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- General knowledge of security practices.
- Basic Networking abilities.
- Active Directory Knowledge
- Cisco Voice Knowledge a plus
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Prefer 5 years of experience in network administration, network analysis, network technician services, systems analysis, systems support, or production support. CCNA Certification a plus.

Pay: $54,461.30 - $80,000.00 per year
