- Implement robust security architectures for networks, ensuring that data flows securely between devices and systems. This involves the deployment of firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, virtual private networks (VPNs), Virus / Malware systems, other security technologies.
- Creating and enforcing security policies and procedures that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. This includes defining access controls, encryption standards, and user authentication protocols.
- Employing advanced monitoring tools and technologies to continuously track network activity. Analyze logs and alerts to detect and respond to suspicious behavior or security incidents promptly.
- Educating employees on security best practices to foster a culture of cybersecurity awareness.
- Staying up-to-date of the latest cybersecurity threats, technologies, and industry trends.
- Implementation and management of all components of the company network, including but not limited to firewalls, routers, switches, telecom systems and related software.
- Create and maintain network and system documentation including but not limited to system specifications, installation/operational qualifications, procedural documents, inventory records, system logs, software/hardware invoices and licenses.
- Monitor security alerts and incidents, investigate and analyze potential security incidents, and provide timely and accurate response.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities in systems, applications, and networks. Provide analysis and remediation suggestions to be implemented.
- Perform hardware/software upgrades as required
- Troubleshoot complex network and system issues and coordinate with various departments when necessary.
- Replacing faulty network and system hardware components when required.
- Maintain warranty and maintenance contracts.
- Maintain backup and recovery systems. Performing disaster recovery operations and tasks
- Monitor system and hardware logs, alerts and events.
- Work additional hours beyond normally scheduled hours as required.
- Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.

- Compliance with all personnel policies.
- Bachelor’s of Science degree in MIS, Computer Science or similar field strongly preferred. Proven work experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience as a Network Engineer strongly preferred or at manager’s discretion.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Hands-on experience with the following: Windows and Linux server operating systems, Active Directory, DNS, firewalls, VPN, TCP/IP, routers, switches, backup and recovery technologies, SFTP, and server hardware.
- In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Familiarity with security frameworks and standards.
- Palo Alto Firewall Experience preferred
- Dell Network Switches and Fiber Switches experience a plus
- Qualys Security Vulnerability Management Suite Experience a plus
- Proficiency in Vulnerability scanning and remediation
- Azure experience a plus
- Dell Server experience a plus
- Certifications in these areas is a plus.
