BlueAlly is seeking a junior to mid-level Cisco Network Engineer (salary for this role is $75,000 - $89,000 plus benefits including matching 401k & 4+ weeks PTO) to work with our client in Western Baltimore County in a large (40,000+ network device) environment, with locations across the United States. In this role, you will:
- Provide specific detailed information for next-generation networking hardware, operating system selection, tools, and implementation techniques to meet customer’s requirements
- Analyze current network configurations and determine implementation requirements
- Provide hands-on technical expertise to prepare network equipment, associated installation tools and logistics for remote installations
- Upgrade configuration of existing network equipment to support new features and functions
- Implement, upgrade, maintain, troubleshoot, and support Catalyst and Nexus switch platforms by maintaining a solid understanding of the switching technologies, remote management, and network topologies.
Qualifications
- Must have active Cisco System Certified Networking Professional certification (CCNP) and the CCNP must be the Enterprise Core (EnCor) version.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with of Local and Wide Area Network traffic engineering tools and implementation in a large enterprise environment
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with AWS networking and possess AWS Advanced Networking Specialty certification
- Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance so will need to be either a US Citizen or Green Card holder
- Able to commute daily into the Baltimore, MD area with no restrictions (we may consider out of area candidates willing to self-relocate into the Baltimore area on a case-by-case basis)
Desired Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with scripting languages such as Python, PERL or Expect
- Hands-on experience with Service Provider Network equipment
- Experience with wide area network technologies and Service Provider and Local Exchange Carrier circuits
- Knowledge of Local Area Network technologies such as Ethernet, wireless LAN as well as the physical media and equipment associated with each
- Understanding of networking and core Internet protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and distributed networks)
- Understanding of network traffic encryptions algorithm and data protecting mechanisms
- Understanding of network connectivity for physical and virtualized servers and Public/Private Cloud Services
