Position Title:Network Engineer (P3)

Role
The Network Engineer will perform a broad range of implementation and technical project management duties on a team of engineers active in both sustaining and growing the Crown Castle Fiber Network. The individual will be well versed in IP/Ethernet, SDWAN/SASE architectural discipline. He/she will work as a member of a team to complete major initiatives that are network and/or customer facing. The individual will demonstrate a willingness to grow their skill set and take on new challenges.
Responsibilities
- Responding to incoming customer support and or move, add, change, delete (MACD) requests. The primary task is to follow the defined ticket handling process to ensure customer escalations are resolved or escalated swiftly. It is essential for this role to communicate effectively to customers, be attentive and provide constructive and professional responses and to manage tickets properly through closure.
- Assist or lead in the design, implementation, and post implementation activities for SDWAN network implementations. Essential core knowledge of SDN principals, advanced routing and SASE concepts is desired.
- Additional responsibilities also include implementing and maintaining internal engineering documents and procedures surrounding network configuration, client configuration, network management, and service level design.

Job Knowledge
Required – IP/Ethernet/SDWAN
- Advanced understanding of BGP, IS-IS, IPv6, OSPF and MPLS, Traffic Engineering, QinQ, G.8032, 802.3ad, 802.3ag, Y.1731
- Advanced understanding of VPN technologies such as L2VPNs (Martini, Kompella), RFC2547, and VPLS.
- Advanced understanding of advanced network routing protocols (BGP, MP-BGP, OSPF)
- Advanced understanding in Software Defined Networking (SDN) technologies
- Advanced knowledge of network security best practices
- SD-WAN/SDN Experience
Desired
- Technical certifications in field from Ciena, Juniper, Nokia, or Cisco.
- Direct experience in Software Defined Networking (SDN) technologies
- Experience and basic understanding of technologies and protocols used in your less proliferate discipline
- Scripting and Automation in a JSON environment. Knowledge of bash, python, XML, YANG/NETCONF
- Ability to work in a UNIX systems environment (BSD, Linux, Solaris, etc.)
- Experience in working with SASE and other remote technologies
- Versa Network experience
Education/Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Networking, Telecommunications, Computer Science or related field
Experience/Minimum Requirement
- 4+ years of experience in telecommunications, Networking, IT Security, or related fields
- Experience in a service provider environment and carrier engineering preferred
- 2+ years of experience supporting and implementing SDWAN and/or SASE
Other Skills/Abilities
- Experience with the following: Data: QinQ, G.8032, 802.3ad, 802.3ag, STP, PBT, VPLS, MPLS, Traffic Engineering, BGP, IS-IS, IPv6; Optical: DWDM, SONET, CWDM
- MS Office, Visio, Intermediate PC skills
Organizational Relationship
Reports to: Manager Network Engineering, Sr Manager Network Engineering
Working Conditions: This role falls into our hybrid work model working in the office on Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, teammates on the hybrid schedule will have the option to work from the office or home. There is an expectation of collaboration with teammates and stakeholders for moments that matter that could require travel.

For New York, Colorado, California and Washington residents the hiring range offered for this position is $95,000- $115,000 annually. In addition to salary, employees are eligible for an annual bonus of up to 15% of annual salary and restricted stock. Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive 18 days of paid time off each year and 12 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
