CDE Lightband, the municipal power provider for the City of Clarksville, offers electric, television, Internet and phone service to customers in the city limits. CDE Lightband serves over 80,000 metered homes and businesses with electric service and over 27,000 customers with broadband services over our Fiber to the Premise Network. We are looking for energetic, professional and courteous individuals to join our Network Engineering team.
Considered to be an upper 2nd or 3rd step in customer resolution; incumbents operate, maintain and repair telecommunications equipment and provide technical assistance to end users and installers. Responsibilities may include diagnosing and resolving difficult or unusual customer issues; adjusting charges based on service issues; maintaining and updating the customer database; and monitoring the network for outages scheduling service calls; determining service call charges.

Job Summary:
Incumbents operate, maintain and repair telecommunications equipment and provide technical assistance to end users and installers. Responsibilities may include scheduling service calls, determining service call charges, diagnosing and resolving difficult or unusual customer issues, adjusting charges based on issues with service, maintaining and updating the customer database, and monitoring the network for outages.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (These duties are a representative sample, position duties may vary.)
- Installs, configures, repairs, upgrades, and maintains network systems and telecommunications equipment; monitors the network for outages
- Coordinates service calls which includes prioritizing service calls, diagnosing & resolving difficult or unusual customer issues; and adjusting service charges
- Prepares & maintains system reports; maintains a variety of operational records
- Maintains and updates a customer database
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level
Training and Experience (positions in this class typically require):
Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field and one year experience in network administration, communications and customer service; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. A minimum of 3 years broadband/engineering experience.

Education
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
Experience
3 years experience in network administration, communications and customer service desired.Certifications & Licenses
Network+, A+, Security+, CCNA, CCNP all Preferred but not required; CPR/AED or ability to obtain upon hire
Other Requirements
Equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job also considered
