Position Summary:

The Network Architect role should have expert competencies in enterprise network routing, switching, security, and other enterprise network technologies. This individual must have the ability to consult, design, implement, document, and perform troubleshooting in these functional areas. This individual should possess great attention to detail and be able to execute on project deliverables with an advanced level of expertise, be a self-starter, require minimal supervision, possibly leading other engineers. This is a professional services position, so having impeccable interpersonal skills and work ethic is a must in dealing directly with customers.

Responsibilities:

• Designs enterprise networks, data centers, hybrid cloud deployments.
• Leads the creation, testing and/or modification of network solutions based on design requirements.
• Expert knowledge of all Routing & Switching protocols including BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, Multicast-Routing, MPLS, and QoS.
• Expert knowledge of virtualization including VSS, VPC, Stackwise, and VRFs.
• Develops efficient architecture designs that align to business and technology requirements.
• Develops procedures for consistent and scalable deployment processes, systems, and solutions.
• Manages assigned projects from initiation through closure.
• Trains users or peers on processes, services, or concepts.
• Acts as an escalation contact and subject matter expert for processes and solutions.
• Research new technologies by attending seminars, reading blogs, taking certifications, or taking classes, and implement or recommend the implementation of new technologies.
• Consult with clients to elicit and analyze business needs, recommend solutions, and provide effort/cost estimate guidance.
• Ability to perform pre-sales calls and meetings and assist in project scoping.
• Assists in pre-sales activities to include cost modeling, Bill of Materials, requirements gathering and Statement of Work review.
• Lead the design, engineering, implementation, administration and troubleshooting of new and existing network services/systems/solutions, and assessment and remediation of existing to ensure technical completeness.
• Works independently and actively collaborates with client engineers, architects, and managers to define, design, and deploy network solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams ensuring customer delivery is priority.
• Participates in meetings, calls and general communications with clients of all levels.
• Obtain and utilize appropriate product, vendor, and Network Architecture and support information.
• Understand WAN, Data Center, Enterprise Campus Fabric Architectures, Overlays, Wireless, Load Balancers, Citrix, and Virtualization technologies.
• Be familiar with intent-based networking technology.
• Mentor senior and junior engineers.
• Deliver project technical and soft deliverables on time.
• Prepare detailed specifications and end to end Visio designs for implementation and support of network solutions.
• Monitor, log, track and resolve hardware, software, and infrastructure deficiencies and note weaknesses or tendencies toward failure within the full range of system lifecycle -- build, service provisioning, operations & decommissioning.
• Ability to lead other engineers and track and assign tasks to completion.
• Experience with infrastructure technologies to include but not limited to the following: All Cisco Catalyst Switches & Routers, IOS, NXOS, AireOS, Palo & Panorama, Checkpoint, JunOS, Aruba, Fortinet, Meraki, and Dell.
• Proven track record of managing, leading, and completing large projects on time and without exceeding the budget.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in enterprise networking.
• Cloud Architecture experience, Azure networking, AWS networking
• F5 Network LTM, GTM experience
• Active CCIE certification.
• Must possess expert knowledge with layer 2 and 3 networking protocols, troubleshooting skills and the ability to debug and do RCA.
• Advanced ability to solve technical issues.
• Ability to present, communicate, and execute professionally throughout client facing engagements.
