Key Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the IT Director, this position supports the enterprise network infrastructure across the organization. Duties include installing, configuring, patching, securing and documenting enterprise network devices and ensuring end user network connectivity. The role requires regular interaction with network/security vendors to track new features and functionality, resolution of open support tickets and strategic future infrastructure/security planning.
This position will configure networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes; establish appropriate network connectivity of all servers, workstations, firewalls, telephony, and other network devices; monitor network performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed; Develop, implement, maintain, and oversee enforcement of policies, procedures, and associated plans for system security administration and user system access based on industry-standard best practices.
This position will also assist to develop a disaster recovery and business continuity plan, identify and prioritize system functions required to promote continuity and availability of critical business processes such that in the circumstance of system failure critical business functions are restored or recovered promptly as well as recommend, schedule, and perform security and network improvements, upgrades, and/or purchases.
Additional responsibilities include design and deploy company LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, firewalls, switches, UPSs, point to point wireless radios, on premise to cloud connections and other hardware. Will also monitor system and Security logs, activity and network traffic for suspicious behavior; performs remediation tasks as necessary. Performs risk assessments, such as vulnerability and penetration tests, to ensure security measures identify and defend against threats.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Security or other closely related field with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in the Information Technology field preferably in the area of network management, security administration, or operations OR an Associate's Degree with Information Technology concentration along with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the Information Technology field preferably in the area of network management, security administration, or operations. A valid driver's license is also required.
Our ideal candidate will possess an outstanding work ethic, positive attitude, be self-motivated with a creative approach to problem solving. In-depth, hands-on knowledge of and experience with enterprise and desktop applications, including enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, document management systems, and productivity tools like MS/Office and project management software are required. They will have in-depth, hands-on knowledge of and experience with LAN, WAN, WLAN, WWAN design and implementation.
