Network Administrator
Washington DC Area
SysArc is a fast-growing IT Managed Service Provider based near the Washington, DC area looking for experienced Network and Systems Administrators to join our team.
We are one of the few MSP’s in the market with a mature cybersecurity practice that has been fully operational for several years. We have developed vertical market expertise within the Aerospace & Defense industry and are one of the leaders in DFARS/NIST 800-171/CMMC compliance solutions and are expecting this market to accelerate over the next several years substantially.
The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of tier II or higher technical experience, and a proven track record of excellent customer service. We are looking for somebody who is organized and enthusiastic about implementing our process to create a successful, efficient environment for our customer's operations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain network performance through network monitoring and analysis, performance tuning, troubleshooting network problems, and escalating problems to vendor.
- Maintain and administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, PDAs, smartphones, software deployment, security updates, and patches.
- Establish network specifications by conferring with stakeholders, and analyzing workflow, access information, and security requirements
- Be a technical resource for escalated issues from Support Desk technicians.
- Establish networks by evaluating performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency
- Define network policies and procedures
- Manage all clients’ Hardware and Software Vendors. Serve as the primary technical contact on behalf of the customer
- Document and upload all changes made to the network (LAN/WAN) to the documentation database including network diagrams
- Document internal processes and procedures to create “how to” write-ups.
- Conduct onsite training requested by the client
- Manage LANs, WANs, network/telecom devices, Internet, and intranet systems for clients.
- Identify user needs (software and hardware) and make recommendations to the Customer Advocacy and Strategy Team
- Determine network and system requirements and make recommendations to the Customer Advocacy and Strategy Team for upgrades and integrations as needed.
- Maintain integrity of the network, availability of systems, and security best practices.
- Be available for the After-hour On-Call schedules including 1 weekend every 8 weeks and is available to come onsite 2x a month.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Network Admin role
- Applicant should have at least one of the certifications:
- Network+
- Security+
- Microsoft Fundamentals
- Ideally seeking applicants with one of the following:
- CCNA
- Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate
