Under general direction, plans, directs, organizes, and coordinates the activities and personnel of computer and network support within the Information Technology Department. Trains, supervises and evaluates assigned personnel while providing leadership in the development of the District's local and wide area network (LAN/WAN) infrastructure. Conduct research and analysis in the development of new policies/procedures relative to areas of responsibility.

- Salary: Range 73 on the Classified Management Salary Schedule ($6,889.92 - $8,375.50 monthly)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Plan and coordinate the District's LAN/WAN configuration and operation including designing, managing and troubleshooting; recommend the configuration, design and operation of technology, equipment and hardware/software to meet District operating needs.
- Supervise information technology staff; assign, direct, and coordinate the work of technology staff.
- Maintain the operational integrity of the District's computer networking system, diagnosing and repairing problems when necessary.
- Provides recommendations for department related expenditures to supervisor; maintain required documents and records.
- Define policies or conditions of acceptable use policy.
- Monitor software licensing, installation, revisions and updates;
- Create and update technical documentation; coordinate training in hardware and software applications, equipment, and maintenance.
- Monitor and maintain database management systems, including backup procedures, user access, and security functions.

Education:
A bachelor's degree in a field related to information technology is required. A master's degree in a field related to information technology is desirable.
Experience:
Four (4) years of experience that include the development, installation and maintenance of LAN/WAN networks and data processing systems; two (2) years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
Any combination of training and experience, which would indicate possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities, listed herein.

Pay increases: The first pay increase occurs after 1 year and increases annually thereafter, until top step is reached.
