Weare seeking a dynamic and driven NEPA Project Coordinator to join our dedicatedteam of professionals. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role incoordinating and managing all aspects of projects related to the NationalEnvironmental Policy Act. This position offers a unique opportunity tocontribute to impactful environmental projects while collaborating with a teamof experts in the field. The NEPA Project Coordinator will be responsible forensuring compliance with all NEPA regulations and guidelines, managing projecttimelines, facilitating effective communication among stakeholders, andmaintaining a working knowledge of changes to the NEPA and Council ofEnvironmental Quality regulations and guidance documents.
The successful candidate will be required to manage theoverall environmental approval process including providing input to projectteams on internal and external scoping, establishing parameters for baselineconditions, and supervising and, in some instances, participating in completingall aspects of any NEPA action including a Categorical Exclusion, EnvironmentalAssessment, Environmental Impact Statement and Programmatic and SupplementalEnvironmental Assessments or Environmental Impact Statements. A. Tasks performed may also include development andreview of regulatory permit applications for infrastructure and planningprojects and permits for completing environmental clearance. This role willsupport a variety of project types including infrastructure, energy, and floodcontrol improvement projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the coordination and management of assigned NEPA - related projects within the firm
- Implements effective strategies to complete and streamline environmental documentation
- Coordinates with state and federal resource agencies
- Identifies opportunities and manages team efforts for submittals, proposals, presentations, and related activities
- Develops strategic partnerships with sub-consultants
- Mentor junior NEPA staff
- Facilitates and coordinates all environmental technical studies both internally with Barge's staff and externally with any subconsultants
- Understands and leads public involvement/process
- Builds informed consent among various interest groups
- All other duties assigned
Education & Experience Qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. in civil engineering, planning, environmental science, and/or related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in leading studies and completing the NEPA process and environmental studies and documentation is required
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills and abilities in terms of developing scopes of work, fee estimates, and schedules
- Ability to manage study specialists and sub-consultants
- Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature judgement in anticipating and solving problems
- Ability to effectively manage concurrent projects and deadlines
- Strong teambuilding skills
- Able to collaborate with other design disciplines
