Summary:
An industry-leading yacht repair company is looking to hire a Naval Architect in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. This position is responsible for performing engineering duties in planning and designing tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment. Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of such equipment.
Responsibilities:
* Interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and computer reports.
* Specify system components for conformity with design specifications.
* Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes.
* Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair to ensure that machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications
* Perform other tasks as required
Requirements:
* Marine Engineering background
* 10+ years of experience as a project manager, designer, or production manager in the marine industry
* Background in boat construction and design (large superyachts)
* Must have CAM and CAD Experience
* Knowledge of vessel safety management
* Knowledge of classification requirements for Yachts a plus
* Ability to interpret blueprints
