Qualifications: EXPERIENCE:
GS-07: In addition to the Basic Education listed below, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector:
- Experience applying marine and mechanical engineering principles and related engineering fields.
- Experience utilizing theory, concepts, principles, and practices of the broad field of marine engineering to support or assist in resolving unique or complex issues pertaining to ship design.
- Experience performing structural analysis and load calculations.

FOR GS-07 ONLY: In addition to meeting the requirements for the GS-5 level, to qualify for GS-7 requires:1. One year of graduate level education at an accredited university/college.2. Superior academic achievement at the baccalaureate level in a professional engineering curriculum.3. Completed a 5 year program of study of at least 160 semester hours leading to a bachelor's degree in engineering. OR 4. Professional Engineering Degree with experience as an engineering technician equivalent to grade GS-05 or higher
COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements.
