Job Summary: Instructor to deliver competency-based curriculum in Natural Resources in the areas of natural resource management and conservation, forest ecosystems processes, environmental law and economics, and other areas. Courses cover identification and classification of plants & animals, forest & wildlife ecology and management, invasive species, biodiversity and habitat loss, climate change, alternative energies, aquaponics, greenhouse management, and sustainability. Courses are taught in a classroom setting as well as in the outdoors in Alvirne High School's 126-acre registered NH Tree Farm. Instructor will teach students using a variety of tools and technologies including remote sensing with satellites and drones, computer-based mapping with GIS and GPS.
Qualifications: Industry experience strongly preferred; must be a certified educator in the State of New Hampshire, or eligible for a certification as a teacher
Working Conditions: Teacher salary range starts at $43,000 according to the HFT collective bargaining agreement pay scale and ranges up to a top step salary of $79,750 at M+30. Our benefit package includes a competitive cost share for health, dental and life insurance at no cost to the employee, and participation in NH retirement system. Additional benefit plans include vision, FSA, 403b participation and a variety of AFLAC plans. The teachers collective bargaining agreement with Hudson School District provides for sick and personal time and a tuition reimbursement program.
