CACI is looking for a Systems Engineer to work with the Active Response Gravity Offload System (ARGOS) at NASA / Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. Candidates should have a strong interest in Robotics, Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I), and most of all, possess a great passion to contribute to our Nation's exploration of space.
What You'll Get to Do:
This work involves integration and testing of the ARGOS facility upgrade to prepare for NASA's return to the Moon. ARGOS provides a reduced gravity environment used for engineering analysis, astronaut trials, and training for space operations in microgravity or lower gravity on a planetary surface. A payload such as an astronaut or robot is strapped into the ARGOS gimbal so that the system removes the effects of Earth's gravity. This will support NASA's deep-space exploration initiative and the return to the moon and on to Mars. The engineer will support the ARGOS system upgrades including assembly, integration, analysis, requirements validation, and operational test and certification for operations.
This position requires a self-motivated, capable person with strong verbal and written communication skills. In addition to outstanding technical expertise, the individual must be very people savvy, strong customer relationship skills, possess a positive team-player attitude, be flexible and willing to take on new assignments and responsibilities as they arise. Finally, the most qualified candidate will be an articulate speaker able to communicate complex technical ideas in a convincing manner, must share our passion for our Nation's Space Program, and share in the excitement of developing the next human-rated space vehicles.
