POSITION SUMMARY
The Passenger Ramp Agents perform a variety of operational aircraft services in support of Northern Air Maintenance Services (NAMS) customers at the ramp, terminal, and hangar by conducting equipment and baggage security screening among other important tasks.
SALARY
The compensation for this position is $22.22 per hour.

ABOUT THE COMPANY
Northern Air Maintenance Services (NAMS) is an FAA Certified 14 CFR Part 145 Repair Station headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska. We are the sole maintenance provider for ConocoPhillips' fleet of three DHC-8-400 (Q400) aircraft. In addition to maintenance services, NAMS handles ground operations, inventory control, and passenger screening for all flights between Anchorage, Kuparuk, and Alpine. With over 70 dedicated employees, we also provide contract maintenance for two DHC-6-300/400 Twin Otters and one CASA 212-300 aircraft based in Alpine, AK.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Loads, stows, and unloads baggage, cargo, mail, and catering trolleys from conveyor belts, carts, vehicles, and aircraft while operating x-ray equipment.
- Cleans and services aircraft interiors. Also removes, assembles, and installs aircraft catering supplies.
- Receives and positions aircraft using standard marshaling hand signals and pushes back aircraft to positions and depositions jetway.
- Operates and cleans various mechanical machines and ramp equipment related to aircraft services such as radios, cargo and belt loaders, trucks, tractors, tugs, vans, catering trucks, and related automotive equipment.
- Maintain ramp area and surroundings.
- Operates all ground equipment in a safe manner.
- Maintains a positive and friendly attitude with customers and coworkers.
- Uses diagrams to build up and tear down catering trolleys.
- Maintain the kitchen and aircraft catering equipment using hygienic procedures.
- Drive and operate the catering truck to and from the aircraft
- Move and handle 150lb rolling trolleys while using safety protocols.
- Cater to the exact diagrams for each aircraft type and flight
- Clean the kitchen, stock room, and other areas as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Shift work is required with possible assigned overtime.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to get along with others
- Must possess the desire to provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to obtain airport security clearance, pass a pre-employment drug test, and a 5-year background check.
- Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- The work is classified as “heavy” regarding the physical demands.
- Lifting/carrying requirements: Up to 70 pounds repeatedly.
- Will often climb, reach, stand, walk, crawl, bend, push and pull, and other physical tasks.
- Visual and audio abilities to perform the duties in accordance with safety procedures.
- Environmental: Exposure to high noise levels, moving aircraft and equipment, dirt, dust, fumes, heat, cold, exposure to hazardous materials, exhaust fumes, and working in confined spaces for extended periods.
